Schalfabrik.de offers you a wide selection of different qualities! Silk is one of the finest and most versatile natural fibers in the world. But not all silk is created equal – depending on the weaving and processing, very different qualities with unique properties are created. Here we present the most important types of silk:
1. Silk Twill

-
Twill is a twill weave that is recognizable by its characteristic diagonal structure.

Silky shine, very durable.

Has good drape but more stability than satin or chiffon.
-
Often used for high-quality scarves, shawls (e.g. Hermès), ties and blouses.
Optics:

Matt-gloss, not as high gloss as satin.
Typical use: Luxury scarves, fine accessories.
2. Silk Satin

Back usually matte, front glossy.
